BW|Bank, Stuttgart (GER)

Three luminous rings in different sizes supplied by Nimbus are the first thing to catch the eye in the entrance hall to the refurbished main branch of the BW|Bank in Stuttgart. Developed especially for this project together with wittfoht architekten, their form follows the guiding principle of the design: the opening in the ceiling from which the luminous rings are asymmetrically suspended at different heights is also round. The opening connects the ground floor with the first floor, which features a numismatic exhibition. It also softens the room's starkly horizontal effect. Further circular shapes – for example the cylindrical display cases – harmoniously guide the customer through the redesigned entrance hall and the self-service zone on the ground floor. In the dedicated areas, leather benches beckon visitors to linger awhile in the discreetly elegant surroundings. The existing facade was lent depth by the layering of textures without losing any of its transparency.
