Increasing the competitive edge - Nimbus at the Light+Building Preview
Dietrich Brennenstuhl (proprietor and CEO of the Nimbus Group) and Dr. Uwe Slabke (Head of Development at the Nimbus Group) gave an taste of things to come in terms of new products, lighting solutions, trends and shining visions at a press conference marking the Light und Building Preview. Besides Nimbus, Zumtobel, Philips and Osram were also present at the exclusive event along with top-level representatives from the press. Dr. Slabke highlighted the fact that Nimbus LEDs are equipped with intelligent electronics packed into the smallest of spaces. They represent the next generation, an even more economical generation, of LED luminaires. Years ago, when Nimbus first used LED luminaires in buildings, the technology was still regarded as an experiment. Today, Nimbus LEDs light over 5400 buildings and homes. All in all, the customers are satisfied, the failure rate is zero.
The Nimbus Group is expanding its portfolio in time for Light & Building. Its new products include the extremely thin Module R 9 to Module R 460 XL round luminaires, which could not have been realized in their present form without LED technology, and the Air Maxx LED 130 wall-mounted luminaire.
At a thickness of just eight millimetres the Module R120 XL, for example, demonstrates that designers are now able to think in completely new dimensions: the light from a total of 129 LEDs pours directly from the 650 millimetres diameter satin-frost acrylic diffuser plate: 129 dimples direct the light. This luminaire is suitable for both the home and the workplace and can be suspended from 150 to 1500 millimetres by means of a stainless steel cable. The luminaire is available in two variations: either with all the light shining downward in a wide beam – or with part of the light as indirect uplighting.
The Air Maxx LED 130 is also a completely new development: in this puristic wall-mounted luminaire, 30 LEDs provide warm white light. Thanks to its chrome-plated or anodised front and sides, this 135 x 135 x 36 millimetre luminaire matches all styles and interiors. A real classic.
