Nimbus equips ADAC headquarters in Munich
Nimbus recently won an order to supply the entire LED lighting for 2,500 workplaces at the ADAC headquarters in Munich.
The ADAC is Europe’s largest automobile club and the third largest in the world.
In combination with the use of geothermal energy and a photovoltaic system, the LED lighting forms an integral part of the building’s energy and sustainability concept.
The ADAC, the so-called Yellow Angels, announced an architectural design competition for the construction of their new building. The building that will rise from the ground in Hansastraße in the Sendling district of Munich will not be just any old faceless administration block but really outstanding architecture that will enhance the urban landscape.
"It is not simply a building like any other, but one which has been tailor made to fit the client," said Prof. Christiane Thalgott, former head of the City of Munich's Planning Office, in praise of the new building.
With the facade of the 23-floor office tower shimmering in shades of yellow, the building will catch the eye from a great distance. The office tower rises from a dynamically formed 5-floor base.
Construction work has been progressing apace since 2007 on one of Germany's largest building sites. Completion is planned for the end of 2011.
