Update for Casambi

An update is now available for our Nimbus Casambi solution. Casambi allows simple and flexible control and dimming of our LED luminaires via smartphone or tablet.

The current version 2.1 of the required Casambi app is now available from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) free of charge. If you have already installed the app, please check which version you have under "App settings" and, if necessary, carry out an update. Casambi has released several new features taking light control even further towards human centric, timer based and energy efficient lighting.

What's New

  • A new timer function enables you to call up lighting scenarios based on the day of the week or the time of day and to arrange them in a sequence (on, off, dimming). The timer function can be triggered by different events such as freely programmable times and dates or based on the time of sunset and sunrise in your time zone.
  • When creating a new network, you can now choose from two radio modes:
    1. The default setting "Balanced" = longer range with a slightly reduced transmission speed. (This setting is suitable for most network set-ups)
    2. "Better performance" = higher transmission speed with a slightly reduced range, suitable for networks with a lot of units in a small area.
  • New Smart Switching functions enable the integration of presence detection sensors in Casambi installations with controllable switched mains output. A presence detection sensor is placed in front of a Casambi unit, which in turn is part of a network and acts as a master module. Using the "Control scenes" mode, you can call up individual scenes, which are then switched off again when there is no activity. Active/Standby allows you to switch between two scenarios, for example between guidance lighting and full lighting in corridors. These new options significantly broaden the scope of application of Casambi to take in efficient, intelligent and intuitively controllable lighting concepts.

Casambi can be used with just about every luminaire in our portfolio. Your existing Nimbus luminaires can also be retrofitted with this convenient solution.
