ADAC Headqarters Munich (GER)

No fewer than 2,737 Office Air LED floor-standing luminaires provide the right workplace lighting in the offices at the new ADAC headquarters in Munich, built according to plans drawn up by Sauerbruch Hutton Architekten. It was the Nimbus Group's innovative and sustainable concept combined with individual solutions that proved decisive in this large-scale project: with this project in mind, the Nimbus design department took the development of the Nimbus Office Air LED range one step further to achieve even higher efficiency. The luminaires in the ADAC building now adjust themselves to meet individual needs and, at the same time, automatically react to the ambient lighting level. In terms of energy, the luminaire sets new standards in efficiency: without indirect lighting it requires just 45 watts, in stand-by mode less than 0.5 watts. As ADAC project manager Dr. Maximilian Thalmair stated: "The major benefit is that we don't need so many lighting elements in one room. The floor-standing luminaires provide the entire workplace lighting." The widespread deployment of Nimbus LED luminaires also eases the financial strain – electricity costs are cut and, thanks to an expected lifetime of 50,000 hours without loss of quality, hardly any additional resources need be set aside for replacing LED bulbs.
