Detached Home, Ulm

One reason why the firm Fertighaus Weiss built the "Plus Energy" house in Ulm was to test new technologies across all of the various disciplines in terms of their suitability for use in practice. Although it looks like a classical detached home from the outside, its inner qualities come as something of a surprise: light interiors, all-round natural lighting via regular and clerestory windows on the upper floor, the open room structure, visual axes between the interior and exterior, but above all a sophisticated energy concept with an ultra-modern control system: these are the features that make this house so special. Nimbus LED luminaires also belong to the concept. Activated by a portable tablet or remote control, they allow a wide range of different lighting scenarios. An ambient light control system, a comfort scenario with subdued lighting, panic functions as well as the entire lighting in the house and garden can all be programmed individually The Nimbus LED luminaires can also be combined with motion detectors. The house is equipped with a photovoltaic system and an air/water heat pump. It enables the power obtained to be supplied to the consumers in the house in line with actual demand by means of smart, networked software. That is the way to achieve optimal energy efficiency.
