FAQ Leggera Cableless Light

My Roxxane Leggera can’t be switched on after unpacking.
The luminaire’s battery is charged to around 40-60 % and a transport protection is activated before leaving the factory. This protection avoids an accidental switching on inside of the packaging while shipping. Therefore you have to connect the luminaire to a charging device (Magnetic Dock or USB-C) to deactivate the battery's transport protection before switching on for the first time. Thus the Roxxane Leggera needs to be "woken up" after unpacking - and it will light up straight away...

The sensor of the Roxxane Leggera does not react anymore, the luminaire can neither be dimmed nor switched off.
Similar to a smartphone or PC it is possible that a reset is required. Proceed as follows to reset the luminaire:

  • Loosen the screws of the battery pack on the bottom (2 mm Allen wrench).
  • Remove the battery pack
  • Wait a minute, then reinsert the battery pack and tighten the screws.

After this the luminaire should work perfectly again.

Why is my Roxxane Leggera sometimes a little slow to react?
(SLEEP MODE)

If the luminaire is switched off, the economical SLEEP MODE is activated after approx. 15 minutes to save energy and thus extend battery life. All functions remain active but the sensor reacts more slowly to the next command. The next sensor operation will set the luminaire back to STAND-BY MODE.

Why does a small light on the head of the Roxxane Leggera pulsate when switched off?
The small light that you notice on the sensor is an orientation light that was deliberately designed that way.
Since the luminaire can be placed anywhere in the room without cables, the pulsating light ensures that the luminaire is not overlooked on the one hand, and on the other hand it serves to immediately find the intuitive control element.

How long will a Roxxane Leggera shine brightly?
In the Boost mode (full light output) the luminaire emits 800 lm and works up to 6 hours that way. In a mid power operation range (approx.. 400 lm) the battery life will amount to 12 hours. However, if the light is dimmed down completely, the battery life increases to at least 100 hours.

How long does it take to charge the Roxxane Leggera?
For quick and convenient charging we recommend the Nimbus Magnetic Dock (accessory – not included in scope of delivery).
An empty battery can be completely recharged within approx. 3.5 hours using this Magnetic Dock. However, a partially charged luminaire can also be used – like a smartphone – after a shorter charging time.

When the USB-C port is chosen the charging time depends on the power adaptor used. We recommend USB-Adaptors with an output power > 2 A. In case you charge the Roxxane Leggera with the power plug offered for our Roxxane Fly (item no. 554-677 / 5 V DC / 2, 1 A) a full charge cycle will take 15,2 hours.

Does it make sense to remove the battery pack from the luminaire when not using the Roxxane Leggera for a long time?
Yes, it does make sense to remove the battery before a longer use break. Therefore loosen both screws on the bottom and remove the battery pack.

Is it harmful to run a Roxxane Leggera permanently on a Magnetic Dock?
No, it is not – you can operate your Roxxane Leggera permanently and stationary on a Magnetic Dock.
But who wants to do this with a mobile cordless luminaire?

My Roxxane Leggera won't charge anymore, what should I do?
All cableless luminaires from Nimbus are equipped with batteries from premium manufacturers to meet the highest quality standards. However, with Li-Ion batteries, as used in smartphones, tablets and notebooks, malfunctions cannot be completely excluded. If you encounter any problems with your battery, please contact our after-sales team directly, who will provide you with competent assistance. Please also note our instructions for battery care.
