FAQ Winglet Cableless Light

My Winglet can’t be switched on after unpacking.
The luminaire’s battery is charged to around 40-60 % and a transport protection is activated before leaving the factory. This protection avoids an accidental switching on inside of the packaging while shipping. Therefore you firstly have to connect the luminaire to a charging device (Basket Charger or Micro USB) to deactivate the battery's transport protection before switching on after unpacking.

How long will a Winglet shine brightly ?
With activated grouping the luminaire emits 170 lm (full light output) and works up to 6 hours that way. In a mid power operation range (50 % light output) the battery life will amount up to 13 hours. However, if the light is dimmed down completely, the battery life increases to at least up to 100 hours.

How does the TRANSPORT MODE work ?
The transport mode deactivates the sensors and the control panel on the front and thus avoids an accidental switching on while transporting. To cancel the transport mode briefly press right-hand (or left-hand) button on the back of your Winglet.

Which power adapter should be used with the Winglet ?
For most convenient charging we recommend the optional Nimbus Basket Charger 554-909. Besides, up to five luminaires can be charged simultaneously in it. Alternatively the luminaire can also be charged via the Micro USB port by means of a conventional USB power adapter usual in trade. We recommend USB-Adaptors with an output power > 1 A or the Nimbus power plug offered for our Roxxane Fly 554-677 (5 V DC / 2, 1 A).

How long does it take to charge the Winglet ?
When the Micro USB port is chosen the charging time depends on the power adaptor used. We recommend USB-Adaptors with an output power > 1 A or the Nimbus power plug offered for our Roxxane Fly 554-677 (5 V DC / 2, 1 A).
One to five luminaires with an empty battery can be completely recharged within approx. 8 hours using the Basket Charger. Hereby the batteries are charged particularly gently. The number of luminaires connected does not influence the effective charging time. However, a partially charged luminaire can also be used – like a smartphone – after a shorter charging time.

How long is the standby time of a Winglet ?
The standby time of fully charged Winglet is 55 days when the luminaire is set to transport mode and 43 days when the luminaire is in simple operation mode (without motion detection and grouping). After this period of time the luminaire should be recharged. NOTE: The comfort functions mentioned above slightly shorten the standby time of a Winglet.

How big is the detection range of the motion detector ?
The motion detector of the winglet detects presence in a radius of 3 m with an opening angle of about 90 °.

What is the maximum wireless range between the individual luminaires ?
Winglet luminaires have a radio range of up to 35 meters – if the view in not blocked / without obstacles. When the radio range in the given building situation is not sufficient a change of the group cay remedy.

Programming with grouped luminaires - which value is stored ?
If several lights are grouped together, the following rule applies: If the off-delay time or the brightness value of a luminaire is changed, this is transmitted to the entire group. Saving the last programming in a group overwrites the previous setting.

Programming – Help, where am I in the menu !
If the programming seems confusing or strange, it is recommended to reset the luminaire or luminaires to the factory settings. Now the customer has a secure status from which he can go step by step to his desired programming.

Why are there coloured adhesive dots enclosed with the Winglet ?
Luminaires and wall brackets operating in the same group can be elegantly marked with these coloured adhesive dots enclosed. Thereby the luminaires easily find their way back to the corresponding wall bracket after charging.

Why is there no USB cable included with the luminaire ?
In the meantime every household has many USB devices in use. We decided not to include a USB cable with the luminaire to avoid another redundant USB cable in your home. Thereby we want to give our little share to waste prevention.
