Binning and light quality
A variety of features can be taken to rate the quality of a LED luminaire. The most important, however, is the uniformity of the light colour. Due to the process employed, a wide variety of light colours are produced during the manufacture of LEDs; these are then sorted in a downstream process and mounted on printed circuit boards. This complicated sorting process based on various characteristics – e.g. light colours – is known as binning.
The extremely high initial quality of the LEDs used by Nimbus plus our LED technology combine to form the basis for unrivalled uniformity of light colour in all Nimbus LED luminaires. We place the same high demands on the light quality of our LEDs as we do on the design of our luminaires and the materials we use. The experience we have gained from over 8000 projects equipping both homes and nonresidential buildings and from over 20 million LEDs we have installed has led to a binning quality at Nimbus which is unsurpassed by any other company on the market.
