Nimbus gives further support to the Village of Hope aid project in South Africa

Ukuqala is entering the third round. Work commenced on the refurbishment of the main building in the "Village of Hope" in South Africa on February 1. Following their trips in 2011 and 2012, architecture students from Stuttgart University have travelled to South Africa for the third year in succession to build a house for the Thembalitsha non-governmental organisation in Grabouw near Cape Town. The project is called "Ukuqala" and ukuqala means beginning in Xhosa (one of South Africa's eleven official languages).

Thembalitsha helps children who have been directly or indirectly affected by HIV. According to the World Health Organisation, there are around two million AIDS orphans living in South Africa. This number has increased by 30 per cent since 2001. Aids orphans and HIV-infected children are accommodated in the organisation's "Village of Hope". There they receive what they need most in their situation: hope. Hope of an untroubled childhood and a longer life. The Nimbus Group is again supporting the students' commitment with energy-saving LED luminaires.
