...and the winner is …
HÄFELE & NIMBUS STORIES – Häfele and Nimbus supported winning teams in the international university competition Solar Decathlon Europe Wuppertal! The worldwide Solar Decathlon competition, in which 16 university teams from ten countries took part this year, is all about saving massive amounts of energy and building in a way that is environmentally friendly and socially compatible. Organized and scientifically accompanied by the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering of the University of Wuppertal, the Solar Decathlon Europe 21/22 is the world's largest university competition.
The overall winner of the world's largest university competition in ten disciplines is the RoofKIT team from Karlsruhe. Nimbus supported both the students of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) with a flexible lighting concept based on wireless LED luminaires and the Düsseldorf-based team MIMO.
MIMO was also pleased to receive the support of the entire Häfele Group of Companies and reached 4th place with their sustainable concept and a changeable living space. To complement the wireless Nimbus luminaires, the students selected furniture luminaires from Häfele: Discreet Loox5 light strips illuminate the kitchen countertop, for example, or serve as accent or orientation lights.
The Nimbus Managing Director Innovation and Design - Dietrich F. Brennenstuhl - is also delighted: "We are immensely pleased that we contributed with our lighting solutions to the KIT students winning first place. It shows that we also reach the young generation of architects with our developments and that our luminaires make a positive contribution to sustainable building."
