Shanghai Roche Pharmaceuticals (RoSE) (CN)

Roche, the globally active pharmaceutical corporation, has added two new buildings to its complex in Shanghai with the evocative name of RoSE. EXH design was responsible for the overall concept. Erich Diserens from Switzerland – a former associate at Herzog & de Meuron – and Zhang Xi from China established the office in Shanghai in 2006. The new, energy-efficient buildings for Roche were constructed in line with European standards and, as far as the energy concept is concerned, impress with their roof gardens and geothermal systems. The interiors feature energy-saving Nimbus Modul Q luminaires which harmonise perfectly with the overall architectural concept. Air Maxx LED 250 luminaires set additional optical accents.
