Sportalm Kitzbühel

As discreet as possible - that was the requirement for the luminaires for the offices of the Sportalm headquarters in Kitzbühel. The architects finally found what they were looking for at the Nimbus Group. With its puristic design, the slim-line Modul L 196 linear LED luminaire fits in perfectly with the restrained interior design while also reprising the white bands of the facade.
The Atelier Ender firm of architects designed the new building on the outskirts of Kitzbühel in collaboration with the architect Ralph Dablander. The building manages to catch the eye despite its simple elegance: white, horizontal bands of metal give structure to the blue shimmering glass building quite independently of the individual ceilings between the storeys. A striking bulge in the facade lends the building a certain plasticity. "Everyone who visits Kitzbühel should see us." That was vision set out by Wilhelm Ehrlich, the Sportalm managing director. The facade design has been taken up once more in the interior: clear lines, functional simplicity and a consciously restrained colour concept – various nuances of white – set the tone. The interior design is intended to provide an unostentatious setting for the building owner's lively new collections that appear every six months. Such a reduced design concept demands luminaires with a very puristic appearance – and the designers found what they were looking for at Nimbus: "A simply formed body that glows homogeneously as a whole – the ideal solution! That was exactly what we were looking for," the architects report. "The Modul L 196 reprises the design of the bands around the facade and of the furniture carcasses. And from the corridor, one only sees the elegant, glowing strips – fantastic," enthuses the architect Ursula Ender. "We will now plan our projects more often with Nimbus LED luminaires."
