Able Group, Gummersbach (GER)

Sometimes, grey and black can be a long way from boring: the interior designers from raumkontor in Düsseldorf wanted to "extend and underline the practical nature of the architecture" with their concept for the interior of the Able Group building. They succeeded in this aim at the new home of the engineering and IT services enterprise in Gummersbach thanks to an inconspicuous but multi-layered formal and material expression and skilfully executed lighting. In the communication zones on the galleries in the entrance hall, the Modul Q 400 now complements elegant, high-backed black chairs intended to encourage staff to talk to one another face to face in this media-oriented enterprise. As the interior designers explained: "In the lounge areas, the lean, technical design reflects the corporate philosophy in the attitude and impact of the luminaires." Nimbus won them over thanks to "contemporary and future-oriented design, good light quality and the extremely thin profile of the luminaires."
